Intensives

Offering the opportunity to:

  • Deepen your experience and understanding of the Alexander Technique by participating in the daily discipline of inhibition and direction in the focused environment of an Alexander teacher training course.
  • Join in a collegial environment with others who are committed to exploring and working with the technique at a highly refined level.
  • Spend from one day to one trimester (you choose how much time would suit you) as a student in the teacher training program.

Each day will offer a mixture of:

  • Daily hands-on work with expert teachers.
  • Group activities which highlight aspects of the Alexander Technique in practice.
  • Talks/discussions to clarify intellectual understanding of the Technique and relevant anatomy and physiology.
  • Discussion of Alexander literature.

Who is it for?

  • Anyone who is already having regular lessons and is interested in applying the Alexander Technique to aspects of their daily life and their own skills and interests.
  • Anyone considering becoming a teacher of the Technique who would like to have the experience of being in a training class before making the commitment to a full three year program.
  • Certified teachers interested in refreshing and enhancing their skills.
  • Visitors are welcome, though space is limited so advance notice is recommended.

Class hours are:

Monday thru Thursday:   8.30am – 12.00pm

Class size:

Classes are kept small with an average of 1 to 4 teacher student ratio in order to ensure close individual attention.

Fee Structure:

The fee per day/week will be calculated pro rata from the current annual fee for training course students.
